2006 SHARK BALL A SWIMMING SENSATION

Trip for 2 to the Cayman Islands Awarded to Lucky Attendees at

Chicago Charity Fundraiser

 

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, September 20, 2006 – Sponsored by the Cayman Islands, the annual Shark Ball held at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois last month was an unprecedented success. As the “Great White Shark” sponsor, the Department of Tourism, with generous donations from Cayman Airways and Villas of the Galleon, offered over 900 guests a chance to win various prizes, including a trip for two to the Cayman Islands.

 

Lucky winners of the dream vacation, Ryan and Julie Gish of Chicago, celebrated with Jeff Ginther and Barbara Reimers from the Department of Tourism (pictured below). The couple can’t wait to take off for the Cayman Islands.

The annual Shark Ball raises money and support for the exhibits, research, conservation and education programmes at the Shedd. The black-tie fundraiser, which aims to increase public understanding and respect for the world’s seas and the pivotal role they play in the health of the environment, is one of the most prestigious events in Chicago.
